In 2009 Nadine and I decided to stop travelling back and forth between the USA and Mexico, and find a place to live in Mexico full time. While Mazatlan was beautiful during the winter, it was hellish during the summer. We looked around and stumbled upon Lake Chapala, as series of small towns about 45 minutes away from Guadalajara, surrounding the largest lake in Mexico. At 1500 meters above sea level, it is like living in spring all year long. The summers are rainy and pleasant, and the winters are dry and pleasant. We are very close to the second largest city in Mexico, with a great airport, outstanding medical services, and just about anything else you could want or imagine. In addition, we downsized from our 600 square meter house in Mazatlan, combined with our 300 square meter house in Reno, to a 250 square meter house overlooking the lake. Eventually I'll get around to taking some photos of the interior, but for now here is our house and our view, as I'm standing in our little gazebo (which Nadine has always wanted) at the edge of our property.

I put a camera on the roof, which updates every ten minutes, in case you want to see what the weather is like and wish you were here.

Quote of the day:
There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
